With over 50 countries using the procedure, the TIR system is the only truly international Customs transit system currently available. In common with other Customs transit procedures, the TIR procedure enables goods to move under Customs control across international borders without the payment of the duties and taxes that would normally be due at importation (or exportation). Although each Member State is a Contracting Party to the TIR Convention, the European Community is considered to be a single territory for the purposes of the TIR procedure. This means TIR can only be used in the European Community where the movement either starts or ends in a third country, or where the goods move between two or more Member States via the territory of a third country.

The new building of B.Anzali customs was established by holding a ceremony at the presence of Gilan province governor, Iran customs assistant, the managing director of Port & Shipping organization and some other local & governmental authorities.

The new building of B.Anzali customs was constructed with the purpose of standardizing this administrative building in a ground with the area of 1820 Square Meter and it is a three floor building with the area of 1306 Square Meter which cost over 6,870,000,000 Rials. And it took two years until this building was constructed.

As it is reported by B.Anzali customs public relations, the new entrance gate of B.Anzali customs is constructed as a two way line gate for entering the trucks for transporting goods which is facilitating transportation and making quicker movement in B.Anzali port.
